Our story
It didn't start as a business.
It started with Oliver.
We're Nina and Anne, a mother and daughter making tallow skincare in small batches here in Arizona. This is how it began.

(01) The beginning
We wanted to know exactly what was in it.
Four years ago, our son Oliver was struggling with really sensitive skin, and like any parents, my husband and I just wanted to find something gentle for him. Around the same time, my husband had been researching the carnivore lifestyle and came across the traditional use of beef tallow for skincare.
The more we researched, the more interested we became. Tallow was simple, traditional, and completely different from the long ingredient lists we were used to seeing on skincare products.
There was just one problem: we couldn't find a tallow product that was as clean and simple as we wanted. Even products marketed as natural seemed to contain the things we were trying to avoid: unnecessary fillers, seed oils and long ingredient lists. If we were going to put something on our son's skin, we wanted to know exactly what was in it.
So, we decided
to make our own.
(02) From our kitchen
What started at home became PHX Glow.
My husband and I began experimenting with rendering and filtering beef tallow and making simple skincare for our family. What started at home for Oliver became something we genuinely believed in.
Over the years, that passion kept growing. Eventually, my mom, Anne, and I took what had started in our family and turned it into PHX Glow.

PHX Glow was never created because tallow became a trend.
It was created because we were parents looking for something better for our child.
(03) How we're different
What you put on your body matters just as much as what you put in it.
That's why every major step of our process is done in-house. From rendering and carefully filtering our tallow to formulating, blending and handcrafting our finished products, we stay involved from start to finish. That gives us control over what goes into every batch, and just as importantly, what stays out.
Minimal.
Real.
Intentional.
We believe skincare doesn't need a long list of complicated ingredients. Our products are made with minimal, thoughtfully selected ingredients, inspired by a back-to-basics approach to skincare. Just purposeful ingredients, with high-quality tallow at the heart of everything we make.

(04) Back to basics
Rooted in the carnivore lifestyle.
Our journey with tallow began through our family's interest in the carnivore lifestyle, and the belief that sometimes the simplest, most traditional solutions are the ones worth returning to.
That philosophy still shapes PHX Glow today. We believe in getting back to basics, questioning what has become "normal," and making skincare without all the unnecessary extras.

Made by us. From start to finish.
We don't simply buy a finished tallow base and put our label on it. Today, we still believe in the same things that started this journey four years ago. We render and carefully filter our own tallow, handcraft our products in small batches, and keep our ingredient lists intentionally simple.
